🤝 Our Parent Privacy Promise
We built Color My Classics with a simple principle: your child's photo deserves the same protection you'd give it. Here's what that means in practice:
- 🗑️ Your child's photo is permanently deleted as soon as the coloring book art is generated
- 🚫 Photos are never used to train AI models — not ours, not anyone's
- 🔒 Photos are encrypted during upload and processed in a secure, isolated environment
- 📋 We collect only what's needed — a photo and a first name. No accounts, no profiles
- 💰 We never sell, share, or monetize your data in any way
- 📧 You receive a deletion confirmation email when your photo is removed
1. Information We Collect
Photo Data
When you create a personalized coloring book, you upload a photograph of your child. This photo is:
- Transmitted to our servers using TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption
- Processed by our AI system to generate a personalized line-art illustration
- Permanently deleted from our servers immediately upon generation of the coloring book art
Key point: We retain only the transformed line-art illustration (the coloring book version). The original photograph is never stored in any database, backup system, or archive.
Child's First Name
We collect the child's first name solely to personalize the story text within the coloring book. This name is associated with the order only and is not used for profiling or marketing.
Order Information
To process and ship your order, we collect:
- Your name and email address (for order confirmation and shipping updates)
- Shipping address (for physical book delivery)
- Payment information (processed securely by our payment provider — we never see or store your full payment details)
What We Don't Collect
We do not collect or store:
- Your child's age, birthdate, or last name
- Location data or device identifiers
- Browsing history or behavioral profiles
- Any information beyond what's needed to create and deliver your book
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to:
- Create your book: The photo generates the personalized line-art character; the name is woven into the story
- Fulfill your order: Printing, shipping, and delivery notifications
- Confirm photo deletion: We send you a confirmation email once your photo has been permanently removed
- Customer support: If you contact us with questions about your order
We never: Sell your data. Share it with advertisers. Use photos to train AI models. Build profiles of you or your child. Send unsolicited marketing (unless you explicitly opt in).
3. Photo Processing & Deletion
This is the core of our privacy commitment. Here's exactly what happens to your child's photo:
- Upload: Photo is encrypted and transmitted via HTTPS to our secure processing environment
- Processing: Our AI analyzes the photo to create a custom line-art illustration. This happens in an isolated environment with no external access
- Generation: The personalized coloring book pages are created using only the generated line art — not the original photo
- Deletion: The original photo is permanently and irrecoverably deleted from all systems immediately after processing
- Confirmation: You receive an email confirming the deletion
At no point is the original photo written to a permanent database, shared with third parties, used for any purpose other than generating your child's coloring book character, or retained in any backup system.
4. AI & Machine Learning
Our AI personalization technology is used solely to transform your child's photo into a line-art coloring book character. We want to be completely clear:
- Your child's photo is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning model
- The photo is not added to any dataset, training corpus, or model pipeline
- Our AI processes the photo in real-time and the input is discarded after output is generated
5. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to operate Color My Classics:
- Payment processing: Your payment is handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never see or store your full credit card number
- Print fulfillment: Your completed coloring book (containing only the generated line art, never the original photo) is sent to our printing partner for production and shipping
- Email delivery: Order confirmations and deletion confirmations are sent through a secure email service
None of these partners receive or have access to your child's original photograph.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Color My Classics is a product purchased by parents and guardians for their children. We take children's privacy seriously:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13
- All purchases and photo uploads are performed by the parent or guardian
- The only child-related data we process is the photo (deleted immediately) and first name (for story personalization)
- We do not create accounts, profiles, or persistent records for children
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
- Isolated processing environment for photo transformation
- Secure, PCI-compliant payment processing
- Regular security reviews of our systems and processes
- Access controls limiting who can interact with customer data
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request deletion of any personal data we hold (order records, email, shipping address)
- Access the information we have about you
- Opt out of any marketing communications at any time
- Contact us with any questions or concerns about your data
Since photos are deleted immediately after processing, there is no photo data to request deletion of — it's already gone.
9. Cookies & Analytics
Our website may use essential cookies required for the site to function properly (e.g., shopping cart, session management). We do not use tracking cookies, behavioral advertising, or cross-site tracking. If we use analytics, it is aggregated and anonymized — we do not track individual visitors.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy statement, we will update this page and change the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes that affect how we handle photos or children's data, we will notify existing customers by email.
